Light Painting
Light up the night like never before!
When literally broken down, photography means “light-writing”. And in this class.. we take that to heart.
During this introductory workshop you’ll learn how to make colorful and painterly photos using the technique known as “light painting”. We’ll combine long exposures and simple light tools to create one-of-a-kind light paintings using JUST your camera–no Photoshop trickery involved!
Albeit informative, this class is inherently fun and smile-inducing. Despite the silly spectacle, participants will learn how to create and capture exciting photos of light painted shapes, figures and even doorways.
Class Format:
Around sunset, we’ll meet at a designated coffee shop or public area (information shared after registration) We’ll then walk to a nearby park to cover basic camera settings, tripods 101, and introduce the tools we’ll be using.
After the preliminary discussion concludes, we’ll begin the process of light painting + photographing, explaining and showing along the way of how certain effects are done.
Walking a short loop, the group will go through 3-5 different light paining techniques, allowing students to participate and practice along the way.
