The event: Unlock the dynamic world of sports photography with our comprehensive Sports Photography workshop at this year’s Boston Triathlon. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll develop technical skills and techniques to capture high-speed sports action and create dynamic, compelling images. During the workshop, you’ll shoot a live sporting event under the guidance of professional photographers and learn valuable tools to make better action and sports photos.
Who Should Attend: This workshop is ideal for beginner to intermediate photographers who have a basic understanding of their camera and have an interest in sports photography. Whether you are a hobbyist wanting to capture your neice's soccer game or an aspiring professional, this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to take your sports photography to the next level.
Location: Carson Beach, South Boston ( meeting details shared after registration)
Prerequisites:
Digital Cameras 1 or familiarity with your camera + manual settings
Recommended Classes:
Topics Covered:
Best settings for sports photography including: focus modes, drive modes, image stabilization and lens selection.
Techniques for capturing high-speed action shots and freezing motion.
Composition strategies to create dynamic sports images and tell compelling stories.
Hands-on experience and personal instruction on your goals.
What To Bring:
Camera with manual mode settings (DSLR, mirrorless, advanced point-and-shoots).
Fully charged battery.
Empty memory card. Bring multiple memory cards if you have them.
Any kit lens (~18-55mm)
Bonus: A telephoto lens (18-135, 70-200, and/or 100-400mm focal length as an example) if you have one
What to Expect:
Meeting at a central location, we’ll lay out the game plan for the day, and work together to determine camera settings and strategies. Through out the entire workshop you’ll have access to two instructors to help you get the best photos.
