Portraiture
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the essentials of portrait photography. We will start by introducing you to the vocabulary of portraiture, used camera settings, and posing fundamentals. From there, students will work with a model and practice in both indoor and outdoor settings, all with an instructor by your side. After completing the class, you’ll understand the essential steps for making better portraits and improving your skills.
Recommended:
Digital Cameras I or equivalent.
Composition Basics or equivalent.
Topics covered:
Brief review of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
Composition and lighting techniques for portraiture.
Overview of photographer-client communication.
Posing and photographing on site.
What to bring:
Camera with manual mode settings (DSLR, mirrorless, advanced point-and-shoots).
Fully charged battery.
Empty memory card.
Notepad and pen.
