For many folks, lighting can be a challenging, and sometimes, technical endeavor; however, lighting is a powerful tool which will expand your skillset and help you create your own distinct images.
In this beginner-friendly, and hands-on workshop you’ll learn how to use a single light source to create stunning, high-impact portraits. Using basic lighting equipment and camera settings, we’ll cover everything you need to know to get started. From the essential gear to techniques and creative ideas for using one light to enhance your portraits.
During the class you’ll also work with your own camera, other students and a model to experiment with various lighting setups and practice what you learn in class.

Prerequisites:
Portraiture or equivalent.
Studio Lighting Basics (suggested)
General knowledge of manual settings
Topics covered:
Review of camera settings for flash/strobe
Lights & Reflectors
Balancing available light and artificial light
Dramatic vs. Natural styles
Realtime feedback and hands on practice
What to bring:
Camera with manual mode settings (DSLR, mirrorless, advanced point-and-shoots).
Fully charged battery.
Notepad and pen.
