Timelapse for Beginners
Learn to create a captivating time-lapse
A timelapse is a series of still images come to life. See how filmmakers, photographers, and other artists learn to create these awe inspiring, time bending, art works using a standard camera, tripod, and a computer. Believe it or not, anyone can do it!
Learning to make timelapses can be broken down into two segments: “capture” and “post-production”. In this workshop students will be guided through both aspects with in-person and hands-on, learning tools. You’ll finish with critically important experience and technical know-how. And.. have some fun learning!
Pre-Workshop :

This will include a a critical walk thru of making a time-lapse, what gear you’ll need, and how to best prepare. Students will also receive practice photos with which to practice making their own timelapse before the in-person portion of the workshop.

The group will then depart for a nearby location in and around the Seaport area to capture an outdoor timelapse. With instructors on hand, students will learn the key methods to create the best possible time-lapse.
Editing: After a brief meal break, we'll review the necessary steps to organize image files, then begin using software to process the images into timelapses. We’ll review ways to improve and enhance our clips using simple but helpful tools.
