Keeping it simple: Learn to capture your subjects natural beauty with natural light
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the ins and outs of working with natural light. We spend a portion of class addressing the different types of natural light, how to enhance it to our benefit and basic tools and techniques for working with it.
From there, you will work with a model to implement these techniques both inside and outside (weather permitting) Our instructor will be by your side offering suggestions and guidance throughout the workshop. This class will leave you feeling more confident in photographing portraits with nothing but natural light!
Prerequisites:
Digital Cameras I or equivalent.
Portraiture, Composition Basics or equivalent.
General knowledge of manual settings
Topics covered:
Review of camera settings: aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
Lens types and their affect on portraits
Types of light sources, pros and cons
Quality vs Quantity, working with less light
Reflectors and diffusers
What to bring:
Camera with manual mode settings (DSLR, mirrorless, advanced point-and-shoots).
Fully charged battery.
Empty memory card.
Notepad and pen.
