Updated: June 3, 2021
Dear BPW Community,
We’ve said it before over and over, but it bears repeating—thank you all so much for your support of the BPW; our small, family-owned business has been able to keep our doors open and continue to grow our catalog of classes because of your continued patronage and participation. We continue to be warmed by your kindness, support, and enthusiasm for photo-related knowledge.
We have had some wonderful workshops recently! Our online classes have been an absolute blast, as well as a wonderful way to connect with students across New England. Our outdoor photo walks, Day Trips, and night photography classes have allowed us to get some fresh air and photograph the changing seasons. Plus, we’re happy to be back in our home studio offering some of our favorite in-person classes once again!
We have been thrilled with the encouraging developments coming from the CDC and the Massachusetts Department of Health. Please take a moment to thoroughly explore our updated COVID policies in response to the latest guidelines.
Our main focus will continue to be providing high-quality, safe, and fun photo education for everyone. Below, you will find more detailed information from our studio regarding our safety procedures and how you can prepare to attend classes—indoor, outdoor, or online.
Online Classes:
We will continue to offer online classes for the foreseeable future! Online classes are a great alternative to physical participation. We have adapted our most popular classes to take place in a virtual space that is convenient to your schedule. If you are unsure about participating in physical classes right now, we highly recommend them.
In-Person Workshops:
We are excited to be bringing back some of our absolute favorite in-person classes to our studio! Whether you’re already signed up or are looking for a class to take, be sure to check out our updated policies:
For indoor workshops: Out of an abundance of caution and in service of the health of our community, we will continue to require all students and staff to continue wearing face masks for our indoor studio workshops through June 30, 2021.
Please note: We are unable to provide an educational experience to students who do not wear a mask for our indoor workshops at this time.
For outdoor workshops: Masks are optional for our vaccinated students. We ask that unvaccinated students practice health-conscious and community-minded measures by wearing a mask.
All students and staff members will continue to practice physical distance of 6-feet in our indoor workshops.
Class sizes have now been expanded to no more than 6 students for both indoor workshops and outdoor workshops.
Hand sanitizer and/or wipes will be available at all of our workshops, but we encourage students to bring their own.
If you are showing symptoms or have been interacting with someone who is showing symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you reschedule for a later date.
Sanitation Procedure:
We will continue to utilize our existing sanitation procedures to meet the rigorous standards put forth by the CDC and the Public Health Department of Massachusetts. Along with our sanitation practices, we will be practicing the following:
We will schedule an extended period of time between in-studio classes to ensure comprehensive sanitation.
Class materials will be provided to the class in a digital form.
Tissues, hand sanitizer, and access to a sink with soap will be provided to students.
Touch-free interaction with our space, which includes propping studio doors.
Our flexible policies. Keeping everyone in our community safe and healthy starts with smart choices. In the event you are feeling unwell, rest assured you can transfer to another workshop at a later date. We offer flexible transfer policies for all of our workshops and will continue to help in any way we can. Don’t worry about missing class. We are happy to transfer your enrollment free of charge.
While we are extremely encouraged by the millions of Massachusetts residents who have been fully vaccinated, we must also acknowledge that COVID-19 has not completely disappeared. Please continue to monitor yourself for any symptoms prior to showing up to class. We can all do our part to keep our BPW community safe in our classes. We ask that BPW students remain committed to washing your hands or using the provided sanitizers upon arriving at our space.
If you are feeling unwell or you were in close contact with someone who felt unwell, we ask that you transfer out of your enrolled class to a future date. We will also ask students who attend a class that appears sick to go back home and rest.
We will keep you updated on any changes and our staff is readily available to answer any questions you have.
Sincerely,
The Boston Photography Workshops Team
