September BPW Student Spotlight is here! Every so often, we will highlight the story and work of a fellow BPW community member. Our students, both present and former, possess such a depth of talent that we want a chance to celebrate them! This month the talented photographer and photo-editor with the itch for travel: Andrew Dion.
Astrophotography is a roll of the dice. Just like the casino games the odds are rarely in your favor, but still hard to resist. That being said, ask any photographer who's chased a starry night's sky and no matter what the odds are the gamble is almost always worth the chase.
The weekend of March 23, 2018, was fun, educational, and chilly for the BPW – it was our third astrophotography workshop at the beautiful Pemaquid Point Light in Bristol, Maine!
Eight creative, motivated students made the trek north—some with supportive family members in tow—to stay in the gorgeous Bradley Inn and make some memories (and great photos) under the starry skies.
Not many people wake up at 2:30 in the morning and are excited to get up. Add to that, 38º weather, and most people would shudder at the idea of crawling out of bed and stepping foot outside. Well, last month that's exactly what some of our brave students did when they participated in our first ever Astrophotography Weekend Workshop at Pemaquid Point Light in Bristol, Maine. The video below will give you a good introduction to how the weekend unfolded.
